Generating an infographic from a chat output: Direct in Gemini from an output vs Copy Output and generate in Image

 What I did:

1. I asked Gemini chatbot: What is the relationship between Metacognition and Language Awareness?

2.  I obtained the output from Gemini.

3. While staying in the chatbot mode, I immediately asked Gemini to create an infographic based on the output.

4. Below is what I obtained?

I then tried another route.

- I copied the earlier output from Gemini.

- I went to Gemini Image, pastedd in the output, and asked for an infographic.

- Below is the image output.

==========================================

OBSERVATION

The first infographic looks better. It's easier to understand. The second one is a bit confusing, and too texty.

TAKEAWAY

- Follow the first approach.

Created a Save the Environment infographic using Canva.AI: 1 output chosen for generating reading comprehension questions

 Canva:

Left-hand pane > Canva AI >

Prompt box:

Create a horizontal infographic for grade 7 students titled ‘5 Things You Can Do to Save the Environment’. The infographic should include text and images. The images should help illustrate the action in question.

OUTPUTS:

4 versions:

I chose one of them: https://www.canva.com/design/DAHCz2AgS6I/4696TXRECl3Sdqg8EGrsxA/view?utm_content=DAHCz2AgS6I&utm_campaign=designshare&utm_medium=link2&utm_source=uniquelinks&utlId=hc617aace8e

downloaded it.

Then I went to POE, uploaded the infographic image file, and asked the chatbot to generate 6 reading comprehension questions based on the infographic.

It worked.

Canva AI can generate an infographic from a text: The output is full of spelling mistakes

Canva AI can also generate infographics from a text, and the outputs are quite eye-catching. On closer look, however, like the free tier of Google Gemini, the generated infographic is full of spelling mistakes!

So, NotebookLM still trumps all other AI tools as far as generating infographics is concerned.

Created an infographic on Oxford's 6 types of language learning strategies using NBLM: Good result

NOTEBOOKLM > Infographic

MY INPUT:

The following pasted text:

Rebecca Oxford's LEARNING STRATEGIES classification ("Language Learning Strategies: What Every Teacher Should Know" (1990))

  • Cognitive: manipulating the language directly, such as repetition, summarizing, note‑taking, using imagery, or deducing rules
  • Metacognitive: planning, monitoring, and evaluating one’s learning, such as setting goals, choosing tasks, or reflecting on performance
  • Memory‑related: linking and storing information, e.g. grouping words, using associations, mnemonic devices, or the keyword method
  • Compensatory: making up for gaps in knowledge, such as guessing meaning from context or using circumlocution
  • Affective: managing emotions and motivation, e.g. using relaxation, positive self‑talk, or rewards
  • Social: learning through interaction, such as asking questions, cooperating with peers, or seeking cultural information

TAKEAWAY:

NotebookLM 生成infographic 的能力真抵讚。圖象有趣及支援內容,還有:不會像免費版Gemini 生成的infographic 經常串錯字。

Created an overview infographic for a CALL session using NBLM: Output OK

 TOOL: NBLM > Create Infographics

MY SOURCE: Pasted Text as follows:

S5 OVERVIEW BOARD

I. WHAT IS AN INTERACTIVE WORKSHEET LIKE?

II. Paul's Classification of Interactive Worksheets

III. AI-generated Reading Comprehension Worksheet:

IV. Administering an interactive worksheet

v. Leveraging AI for creating interactive worksheets

Also, I stated that I did not want additional text inserted by AI.

OUTPUT:

OBSERVATIONS

1. A straightforward column.

2. The left hand graphics do help to express the subtopic ideas.

3. The output still contains additional text, though I asked the tool not to.

Whatsapp's Copilot can also create infographics from an uploaded document

Created an infographic on Metacognition in Language Teaching using NBLM's new Infographic function

This is a new Beta function, which did not appear before.

I started with the same input: Zhang 2025.

OUTPUT:

OBSERVATIONS

1. Compared with my previous attempt using Gemini's Image Creation function, NBLM's is doing a better job, in that the output looks more like an infographic.

2. Surely it doesn't capture all the level 2 or level 3 ideas in Zhang 2025, but for an overview, the infographic looks fine. The illustration supports the content ideas.
