如果要生成一個簡短的general introduction to a topic or concept的video, 我試過的AI 工具中，暫時最滿意的是Google Vids。NotebookLM 的Video Overview當然很好，但用法不同，它主要依靠用者上傳的資料。
但Google Vids, 用者只要打入topic 或concept, 它便先生成一個outline,如果滿意不作edit, 再按generate, 它便生成一個兩分鐘的video。乾手淨脚。
下面是我以Key concepts in self-regulated learning為topic 生成的overview video；只要不用於high-stakes場合(例如考試)，這方法是不錯的，可讓課堂更multimodal。

到目前為止，我對NotebookLM的Video Overview功能很滿意。它生成的video overview很忠於我輸入的文件的內容。(文件是一節課的主要內容。)我現在恒常用它生成的video 用於 flipped learning。
相反，NotebookLM的audio overview功能卻不合用，生成的podcast總是一男一女的交談，把我輸入的內容作生活化的演繹，卻不直接提到相關的學術概念，效果像電台的清談節目，適宜leisure listening，卻不適宜用作flipped learning。(當然你可以加入他們的討論，這是NotebookLM 的奇招。)
回想以前製作一個供flipped classroom的video所需的心思和時間，今天要向NotebookLM扣頭道謝。
終於找到時間和機會去用Google Vids去create video，它和NotebookLM的Overview video用法不同，只需要打入一個prompt，由它去generate video，我就用了Key Concepts in First Language Acquisition 作為prompt。
跟著它生成一個video的outline，在這階段我可以edit outline, 滿意後就按Generate。
生成的video的效果頗滿意，很有影片feel，下面的例子全個過程不用5分鐘。我覺得如果用作Introduction to a topic/idea，Google Vids是很不錯的AI工具。(下面的版本是我download後，再上傳到Youtube以便share给學生。)
Google Vid is one of the creation options when you open '+' in your Google Drive.
It will then ask you for a prompt to get a video outline which consists of 'frames'. In my case: 'What are the key concepts of First Language Acquisition?'
You can then edit the outline if needed.
After you're happy with outline, click 'Generate'. The resulting video will emerge in about one minute. At this stage, you can still edit the video.
The resulting video can be:
- shared via a link (with the right Share setting)
- downloaded as an MP4 file;
- saved to your Google Drive
