This time, I used the 'From a topic' option.
My prompt: 'Names of means of transport' and their definitions.
OUTPUT
OBSERVATIONS
- Unlike the previous one, this result looks like the conventional Flashcard deck with a word on the Front of a card.

My pasted text:
If you want to
find a cool place in summer, even when it's hot, then the forest is a good
place. The tops of the trees protect us from the sun, like an umbrella. This is
called the 'tree layer'. Various trees can be found at this level, such as
beech, oak, birch and ash. Pine trees can also be found, and spruce. The middle
layer is called the 'shrub layer', and it is not as tall as the tree layer.
Examples of vegetation at this level are hazelnut and hawthorn shrubs, and
there are also young trees. The next layer down is called the 'herb layer', and
the plants here are bracken, grass and ferns - none of which need much
sunlight. It can be quite dark down at this level, and there might be a moss
layer on the
forest floor,
underneath the herb layer.

OBSERVATIONS
1. In the form of Q and A, not Word > Definition
I suddenly wanted to see if Padlet TA could create something in Chinese. So I asked it (in English) to generate a flashcard deck about Chinese kinship terms (I did not state the terms myself, but specifically asked it not to use common ones like 'Father', 'Mother', etc.), and I specified that everything should be in Chinese.
Padlet TA didn't disappoint me. Here is the output, all in Chinese. The 'hint' in the bottom left-hand corner on each card is still in English, but that works even better!

My Prompt:
- The flashcards are all in Chinese language.
- On one side of each card is a kinship term. Do not use the common ones like 'father', 'mother', 'sister', and 'brother'.
- On the other side of the card is explanation of the relationship.
Just now, I tried the previous flashcard task again, this time with Padlet TA.
The prompt was the same. It worked.
Turns out that Padlet TA's flashcards have one unique feature: Audio. Students can click on both sides of the card to listen to the sentences.
This is a very useful feature for students:
After the previous attempt (see last post), I continued the use the same prompt with Canva, POE, and Gemini.

1. Unlike Quizlet and Brainscape, this attempt resulted in a deck of 10 questions about the passage, not about Vocabulary. The questions are mainly factual questions (Recall details). The expected answer is not just one word/phrase; it can be a detailed answer.
2. There is no Study mode. Just self-assessment mode.
3. There is a 'Hint' function if Ss need a hint.
4. There is apparently an adaptive learning function: "I got it right" vs "I got it wrong".
