A moment ago, I created a WORD document in Outline mode, which I had PPT convert to a presentation.
Then I thought: 'Since I have an outline document already, can I use an AI app to turn it into a slidedeck.'
I first tried https://app.presentations.ai/
It did allow me to upload my outline document. There was the option of keeping mostly to my outline content (vs generating new content).
The Result:

- Text: It retains all of my outline text. But it has still added some additional text which I need to delete.
- Visual design: Yes, it's there, but not always useful
-CONCLUSION: Still not useful.

Then I tried CANVA.AI
In the prompt box, I pasted in my outline.
RESULT:
- It didn't use my outline text.
- It can only generate from a topic.
CONCLUSION: Canva AI is not useful for generating slidedecks either.
