Animaker and Animoto

I have tried both Animoto and Animaker in creating a short video that introduces something. The two apps are easy to use, but the resulting video is professional-looking.

The procedures for creating a video are similar for the 2 apps. For each frame, you add in an image, type in some text, and when you are done creating your frames, just click 'create video'. The app will then create a video that contains special effects, and even background music!

The difference between the two apps:

Animoto - The image you add to each frame is either a picture from your own computer, or a photo that you find from the built-in Unsplash search.

Animaker - The image you add to each frame is a built-in cartoon character whose posture, facial expressions, etc., you can change.

With either app, you can produce a professional-looking video with background music in just a few minutes. They may not be suitable for creating instructional videos in which you explain a difficult concept. But if it is a short video in which you introduce something, such as yourself (use your personal photos), the rundown of a lesson, the steps for completing an assignment, or even the places you have been to in the last 2 years, then they are good choices.

Animaker may remind you of Powtoon. But the problem with Powtoon is that you easily run into premium features. Since I don't use it very often, I just use free plan, but Powtoon's free plan is much more limited than that for Animaker.
